|
 |
Once again Suzuki Philippines has set another trend in the motorcycle industry
by its introduction of the much awaited Raider 150. Held last May 6 to 7, 2004
at the prestigious Holiday Inn Hotel, Mimosa, Clark Field Angeles, Pampanga, the
launching brought the Suzuki dealers an illusion to the wonderful world of Aviation.
With Suzuki Marketing Team setting the mood of flight by accenting the launch with
their aviation costumes, Suzuki made clear that the power of the Raider 150 is
comparable to that of a jet plane.

the theme of the event which is to “Go the distance”. Followed by a mixture
of choreography and stunts reinforced by a dramatic exposition of the features
of the new sportbike, the Raider 150 was formally launched. After this, dealers
went to a real hangar where they were able to see the outstanding display of the
current models of Suzuki motorcycles, this was further highlighted by stunt riding
with a mixture of dance choreography courtesy of the Suzuki Stunt Riders and Suzuki
Dancers. That afternoon was culminated with a Raider 150 test ride at an Aviation
school run way for a real power test of the newest Suzuki motorbike.

All of these events transpired to formally launch the most awaited sport
bike of the year, the Suzuki Raider 150, a product developed to realize
the following product concept: a bike with the most powerful engine
performance and the lightest vehicle weight in the 4-stroke underbone
sports category, and a sporty, highly original styling with a strong
Suzuki identity. It is powered by an air-cooled/SACS engine with a
displacement of 150cc – the biggest in the 4-stroke underbone sports
category – delivering high performance. Its weight is only 95 kilograms,
so far the lightest among models in the 4-stroke underbone sports category.
This was achieved by combining newly designed lightweight aluminum wheels,
slim instruments, lightweight frame, and lightweight engine.

This sportbike features dual vertical headlights that share the image of
Suzuki’s high-end, high performance bikes like the GSX-R1000-supersport which
is dominating tip finish lines in races around the world. Furthermore, it is
accented with a sporty instrument panel with a digital speedometer and analog
tachometer- also like the high-end sport bikes supers ports- and of course a
sporty bodywork including a front frame cover/oil cooler covers as well as a
sportbike-like chin spoiler.
