Suzuki Launches Mola 150 at Westin Philippine Plaza
|
 |
Suzuki Philippines, known for its solid heritage in the tricycle
category still strongly held by flagship and favorite 125cc
2-stroke “X-4”, has recently introduced yet another model to beef
up its new GS series – the 4-stroke Mola 150, which now completes
Suzuki’s business line up in 125, 150 and 175 engine displacements.
Poetically named after what Filipinos call a stallion horse,
the Mola 150 is the true embodiment of what this sexy creature is:
a picture of graceful masculinity and powerful strength.
In order to create this larger than life image for the launching
business model, Suzuki Philippines mounted so far its most
theatrical presentation to more than 150 of its nationwide
dealerships at the Westin Philippine Plaza Luzon Ballroom on
December 06, 2005. Using the folkloric Mexican legend “Zorro”
as an appropriate story backdrop, the Japanese motorcycle
manufacturer turned completely Hispanic overnight, throwing
passionate numbers from Combanchero serenades to fiery flamenco
dancers amidst a Castillan piazza with a real fountain centerpiece.
Suzuki staff and management themselves personally surprised
their dealer family with welcome roses, all clad in red-black
Spanish costumes.

With guest emcee turned woman-in-distress Criselda Volks opening the
stage with a cry for help in the clutches of armed bandidos, a wall
of hollow bricks crumbles as the new Suzuki Mola 150 comes crashing
through, displaying unbreakable toughness to the rescue. Trotting
upon it, instead of his traditional horse, is Caballero Zorro,
grabbing frazzled lady onto his Mola, this time showing off its
handsome gait before a titillated audience.

Then a mini Zorro adventure movie presented in full, just what makes
the new Suzuki Mola 150 a winning stallion on the race course for
hard-core following: a 4-stroke, 5-speed, 150cc engine makes it an
ideal partner in business; it is strengthened by a high grade type
chain assembly; is easier to start with DC-CDI and both kick and
electric starting mechanisms; saves the driver on maintenance hassles
and expense with an automatic camchain tensioner and free additional
two shocks plus one sprocket; and saves trips to the petrol station
with a large 13.5 liter fuel tank capacity.

One glance at the red, blue and black Mola’s gallant stance and a
well-formed work horse comes to mind. It is handsome enough to use
on its own for personal use without a sidecar, what with perhaps the
market’s sportiest muffler to boot.
The biggest unveiling yet of the evening took form in the person
of the real “Zorro of Suzuki”. After enjoying the stunts and antics
of a nimble swordsman draped in black, the audience roared in standing
ovation to see Zorro unmasked, revealing no other than Suzuki President
Kiyoshi Kawahara, launched to nationwide dealers as Suzuki’s hero, defender
and driving force.

As an opening act to this very playful presentation, the new look
of the Suzuki Smash 110 was also formally introduced to the group
by way of a catwalk-inspired vogue music video. The glammed up
Smash now sports a new Raider-type donut-shaped rear brake light
design, a new trendy meter panel with carbon fiber design, a stylish
painted aluminum grab bar, wider, brighter signature diamond-eye
multi-focus headlight, a new after-market look textured seat, sporty
tear-drop shaped rear view mirrors, and sporty, sharper decals.
The fresh batch of Smash 110 comes in market -favourite combinations:
medium blue metallic/crystal black and celebration red/crystal black.
