Suzuki ends 2016 on a high note with a 37% sales growth

Posted on: January 27th, 2017 by sphauto No Comments

Suzuki’s massive 2016 sales growth attributed to product launches of multi-awarded vehicles, new dealerships in the country’s developed cities, and events that have spurred market interest.

Manila, Philippines. January 17, 2017 – Leading compact car manufacturer Suzuki Philippines (SPH) posted a record-breaking 37% year-on-year (YoY) growth as they wrapped up a fruitful year marked by timely product launches, new dealership inaugurations, and other events which have brought the products closer to Filipinos’ hearts.

From teasers that gave a preview of the all-new sedan Ciaz to the first-ever media and bankers’ test drive which showcased the subcompact sedan’s road-handling excellence, Suzuki was able to connect to a wider set of audience through strengthened marketing efforts in 2016.

Aside from product portfolio additions – which include the Euro 4 compliant Super Carry – SPH mounted cross-country Auto Festival, test drive activities, and participated in last year’s Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) where Suzuki’s lineup of best-selling vehicles were displayed to better reach car aficionados and customers.

Through its successful claim as title sponsor of last year’s AFF Suzuki Cup, Suzuki was able to showcase beloved brands headed by the AFF-dressed Swift and all-new Ciaz and Ertiga, which left tournament goers in awe.

The year also saw a number of dealership launches in line with the company’s determination to impart the Suzuki Way of Life and offer greater product and service accessibility to more Filipinos.

Among the newly-launched dealerships located in the country’s emerging markets include Suzuki Auto South Cebu, Suzuki Auto Pulilan, Suzuki Malolos Satellite, Suzuki Auto Gen San, Suzuki Auto Quezon Avenue Satellite, Suzuki Auto Sta.Rosa, Suzuki Auto Biñan, Suzuki Auto Baguio, Suzuki Auto Davao, Suzuki Auto SM Gen San Satellite, and Suzuki Auto Batangas.

Product launches and accolades

Last year, SPH added two award-winning vehicles to its growing family: the elegant and sporty subcompact sedan Ciaz, which was distinguished as the Best Value for Money in the Compact Sedan segment at the 2016 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards and the Best Subcompact Car at the 2016 CAGI Car of the Year Awards; and its first-ever utility commercial vehicle (UCV) Super Carry, which earned the Best Utility Commercial Vehicle distinction at the 2016 CAGI Car of the Year Awards.

The multi-awarded Ciaz delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency, advanced features, stylish exteriors, redefined interiors, and exceptional performance, as demonstrated in test-drive activities conducted last year.

Meanwhile, Super Carry features exceptional strength, quality performance, superior loading capacity, and a Euro-4 compliant Diesel engine, designed to enhance operations of businesses, particularly MSMEs, while helping address recurring national issues such as heavy traffic, increasing fuel costs, uneven road conditions, and worsening pollution.

Suzuki was also part of the first-ever Euro 4 Fuel Economy Run organized by the Department of Energy (DOE) in partnership with Petron Corporation.  Celerio M/T, Ciaz GLX A/T, Swift 1.2, Ertiga GLX A/T, Celerio, and Ciaz M/T were among the 70 vehicles that joined the 280-km run participated by 20 different car manufacturers.

Out of all the participating vehicles, Suzuki Celerio CVT emerged to have the best gasoline-powered engine, while the all-new Ciaz Manual Transmission (M/T) topped the fuel-efficiency test in the gasoline sedan category.

2016 Top sales drivers

Aside from Ciaz and Super Carry, other Suzuki cars contributed to SPH’s overall sales growth, too. Known for its surprisingly spacious interior and stylish exterior, all-time favorite Celerio emerged to be SPH’s largest 2016 sales driver, with a 149% YoY sales growth. Meanwhile, spacious Ertiga, iconic Jimny, dashing Swift, and Alto 800 followed as the next leading sales drivers, each having maintained a double-digit YoY growth.

The 7-seater Suzuki Ertiga also bagged the MPV Best Value for Money distinction at the 2016 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards.

Bigger plans for the Philippine market

Inspired by the positive customer feedback and nonstop sales growth, SPH is all set to surpass its 2016 performance through amplified and sustained efforts in product value enhancement and brand building. The company has a number of dealership openings in its 2017 pipeline, as part of its resolve to further strengthen its presence in the country’s most developed cities.

“The automotive industry was intensely competitive last year, but we have managed to stay on top of the game. Our relentless efforts to truly understand and address market needs have made 2016 a successful and abundant year for Suzuki,” shares SPH General Manager for Automobile Mr. Shuzo Hoshikura.

“With this, on behalf of Suzuki Philippines, I would like to extend our gratitude to our clients, whose unwavering support translated to Suzuki’s massive sales influx in 2016. As we prepare for the coming months, we shall continue to prove that we are deserving of our clients’ trust through our great-value products and services,” he adds.

Fun and frolic mark the 3-day AFF Suzuki Cup 2016

Posted on: January 27th, 2017 by sphauto No Comments

Manila, Philippines. December 7, 2016 – AFF Suzuki Cup 2016 title sponsor Suzuki Philippines (SPH) got avid football fans into the groove with fun games and activities last November 19, 22, and 25, to mark the ASEAN region’s most prestigious football competition.

To kick off the tournament, over 1,000 motorcycle club members and 500 Suzuki car club enthusiasts joined the parade to the Philippine Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan, on the AFF Suzuki Cup’s first day. They were joined by friends and families who were equally thrilled to witness the matches and participate in the Cup’s activities.

Braving the traffic to greet the Philippine Azkals and cheer them on at the group stage games were 1,300 students, mostly hailing from the country’s top universities – Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Sto. Tomas, University of the Philippines, University of the East, and Far Eastern University.

On the last day of the group stage games, November 25, 40 children from the JCI Manila – GK Smokey Mountain Football Club had the privilege of sitting on the best seats as they witnessed the Philippine Azkals battle for national glory for the very first time. Through this experience, SPH hopes to inspire them to likewise find their passion and eventually the courage to pursue it.

Aside from the competition, there were activities and games in store for tournament attendees, too. Welcoming the spectators and guests at the Suzuki Village located just within the stadium’s premises were a huge arc balloon and a life-size soccer ball. The soccer ball allowed tournament-goers to leave their messages at the Philippines’ first-ever co-hosted AFF Suzuki Cup.

Displayed at the Suzuki Village as well were SPH’s exciting lineup of automobiles and motorcycles. On display were the AFF-specially-dressed Suzuki Swift 1.2, the all-time favorite Suzuki Jimny, the multi-awarded Suzuki Ciaz, the well-loved Suzuki Ertiga, and the ever-stylish Suzuki Celerio. Smash 115 Fashion Colors, Address 115 Fi, and the Underbone King – Raider R150 were also among the motorcycles that have each captured tournament goers’ attention.

While those on display provided attendees the perfect venue for taking photos, SPH prepared a number of games and activities – from the prize wheel down to the mini football games – to keep Filipino football fans’ energy levels up beyond the actual competition.

“Suzuki Philippines is honored to be part of this year’s AFF Suzuki Cup, which marks the country’s official debut as its co-host. With the help of our partners, we were able to bring the Suzuki Cup to full throttle and imbue a strong love for football among Filipinos, the latter serving as a great source of motivation to our Philippine Azkals,” Suzuki Philippines General Manager for Automobile Mr. Shuzo Hoshikura says.

MANILA, PHILIPPINES. October 20, 2016 – Suzuki Philippines accelerates interest for its most recently launched product among its primary target market—the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs)—by presenting the Super Carry at the 15th Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. (AFFI) Expo at the World Trade Center in Pasay City on October 14 to 16.

Beneficial to businesses in more ways than one, Super Carry is specially designed to help more businesses reach their maximum potential as it is built to efficiently carry out more tasks, and be a practical, cost-efficient and reliable workhorse for any kind of enterprise.

“We are thrilled to be part of the annual AFFI Expo, especially because the latest addition to our product portfolio serves as a perfect fit for the needs of the attendees of this event,” said Mr. Shuzo Hoshikura, Suzuki Philippines General Manager for Automobile.

As businesses in the country continue to prosper – along with it comes the increasing demand for vehicles used for the regular transport of goods, resources and manpower over great distances. However, even with the economic growth and its benefits combined, it is still hard to outweigh the inconveniences people encounter on a daily basis.

Heavy traffic, increased fuel costs, uneven road condition and the worsening pollution to identify several of them – these pressing issues do not only apply to people but the same goes especially for vehicles to which these businesses are heavily reliant on.

“Through providing the market with a vehicle capable of withstanding the toughest of conditions, Suzuki believes the Super Carry is designed with attributes fit to address such issues,” added Mr. Hoshikura.

“Super Carry is equipped with superior loading capacity, strength and most importantly, a Euro-4 certified Diesel engine that enables this workhorse to do its job of delivering uncompromised quality performance in a manner that truly cares for the environment,” he continues.

To further highlight the attributes of their latest model, Suzuki Philippines will feature during the three-day event a line-up of the Super Carry each particularly modified for commercial use.

AFFI, established in 1997, has been bringing together hundreds of exhibitors showcasing a wide range of business concepts and brands for franchise at the yearly event. This year, the expo expects over 25,000 visitors.
